A good location which was walking distance to where we wanted to be but not everyone would be happy with this location. The hotel had everything we needed including a great little rooftop pool and chill area. Great staff, excellent breakfast and everything was perfect for our short two day stay. Recommended!

The night is quiet and the room is clean. Regularly clean up. It's also very convenient to go out with 711, supermarkets, and TAM machines. The boss is Chinese. There is no problem with language barriers. You can speak Chinese.

I booked this hotel for a short stay while I waited for my flight to Japan. The hostel had a café, but most of the customers seemed to be enjoying smoking ****, creating a laid-back atmosphere. Everyone appeared to be having their own peaceful time. The hostel itself was fantastic, offering all the basic facilities, and the rooms were very clean. Overall, it was a great experience at the hostel.

Our hotel manager Scarlet was very helpful in many ways. Very knowledgeable about Bangkok and the nearby area. We loved their in-room coffee machine; we could enjoy great coffee any time of the day. Our room was quite clean except for a couple of stubborn sticky stains on the coffee table and the floor near the fridge area.

Hotel staff is good. Breakfast spread is decent but very limited. Limited vegetarian items. Even not provided on request. Rooms are small but clean with good views however my toilet seat had a leakage and not rectified even after compliant so had to sped 7 days with same issue.

Our stay at Sathorn Vista Bangkok was exceptional. The hotel offers spacious, well-appointed rooms with all the amenities you could need, making it a perfect base for exploring the city. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring we felt welcome throughout our stay. My parents particularly enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and the hotel's convenient location, which allowed us to easily access key attractions. The sauna, pool and gym were great perks for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. Overall, it was a memorable experience, and my parents were very pleased with the comfort and service. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Bangkok!

This hotel is located just next to Si Lom area and accessible to all main attractions in Si Lom. This hotel is also within easy walking distance of Sam Yan MRT station and Sala Daeng BTS station. The room was clean and tidy and I will definitely come back and be staying at this hotel whenever I’m in Bangkok

The location is pretty convenient, with a few stops away to Siam and a few stops away to icon siam. The room that we booked is a family room and I think the upper bunk is not very clean, but that may be because it’s too hard for the service staffs to actually make the bed and clean the gaps for the upper bunk. Those who want to book this hotel need to note that there’s no room slippers, comb, razors, sanitary bags. And can only be purchased at 7-11 if you require them.

Hotel is very different from pre covid. They appear to be economizing and expecting you to pay more for less. The most disappointing aspect for me was the food. Breakfast was basic and that’s all I can say. Many items missing from previous menu/ stay. The restaurant is also serving smaller portions and charging more. Room service menu offers little in variation. The staff continue to be hospitable and friendly although the check in person was not so professional. I no longer enjoy staying at the hotel and will not return. There are better options out there offering more.

The hotel itself is located at the center of Bangkok. There’s nothing to complain about the room but service needs to improve much. We arrived on time to check in but receptions inform us we couldn’t check in until 4:30pm! We had to sit and waited at the lobby. They couldn’t do anything at all. I’m not going back anymore.

Bangkok Silom/Sathon Hotel Guide

Bangkok Travel Guide

Bangkok is Thailand’s capital and the pulse of Southeast Asia. Built along the Chao Phraya River, Bangkok used to get around on a network of canals, earning it the nickname “Venice of the East.”

In Bangkok, you’ve got glittering temples like Wat Arun and Wat Pho sitting right next to shiny skyscrapers and giant malls like IconSiam. No matter if you’re slurping on boat noodles, cruising the river, or catching the sunset from a rooftop bar, Bangkok’s got a way of pulling you in!

Getting to Bangkok

So, you’re headed to Bangkok—awesome choice! Getting there is pretty easy since the city’s got two airports: Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) and Don Mueang Airport (DMK).

  • Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) is the main one, located about 30 kilometers (19 miles) southeast of the city center. It’s where most international flights land. It’s shiny, modern, and well-organized, with loads of shops, cafes, and lounges. If you’re flying in from Europe, North America, or anywhere long-haul, this is probably where you’ll arrive.
  • Don Mueang Airport (DMK) is about 20 kilometers (12 miles) north of downtown Bangkok and handles mostly budget airlines like AirAsia and Nok Air. It’s an older airport and it’s great if you’re coming from nearby countries or taking domestic flights.

If you’re catching a red-eye flight, I suggest staying near Suvarnabhumi Airport for convenience. These hotels offer free shuttle services to and from the airport, making those early mornings or late arrivals much easier.

Top Things to Do in Bangkok

Wat Arun

Top Things to Do in Bangkok

Bangkok is chaotic, colorful, and so much fun. This delulu city guarantees you’ll leave with stories to tell!

1. The Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew

The Grand Palace is Bangkok’s most famous landmark, and for good reason. This 18th-century royal palace is incredible, with intricate architecture and remarkable courtyards. Inside, you’ll find Wat Phra Kaew, home to the Emerald Buddha, Thailand’s most sacred statue.

Pro Tip: Your ticket also gets you into the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles, which is cool (literally—hello, AC!) and worth a quick stop.

The Grand Palace

2. Wat Pho

Just down the road, you’ve got Wat Pho, home to the massive Reclining Buddha that’s 150 feet of pure gold-plated glory. The temple grounds are beautiful, and if you’re up for it, you can grab a massage at the on-site Thai massage. Trust me, it’s worth it.

Top Things to Do in Bangkok

Chinatown

3. Chinatown

Chinatown is a feast for the senses. No matter if you’re here for the amazing street food, gold shops, or temples, this neighborhood never disappoints. The main drag, Yaowarat Road, comes alive at night with food carts dishing out everything from roast duck to sticky rice with mango.

If you’re visiting during Chinese New Year, expect exciting parades, dragon dances, and even more delicious food. Don’t forget to duck into a side alley—you never know what treasure you’ll find.

GGuest User1. The hotel is quiet in the middle of the city. In the alley behind the downtown. 2. Very close to Chulalongkorn University and Sanyam Shopping Mall. It is only a few hundred meters to the King Power Building, 2 kilometers to the park of the giant lizard, 2 kilometers to the night market of Chulalongkorn University, and the Grand Palace. It is very convenient. The subway entrance is 500 meters. My three children and I go to Suvarnabhumi Airport. The subway is very convenient. 3. The service attitude is very good. 4. Pay special attention to the number of people: I booked a room for 2 nights online. When I arrived, my 13-year-old daughter, 18-year-old eldest child, and 6-year-old third child, the waiter said that only 2 people can stay in one room. I have to book another room. My daughter communicated in English, and then I booked another standard room for 1,000 baht a night for 2 nights. The 650-meter hotel bed has 1.2 beds, which can only sleep one adult.

KKeyToTheHighwayDeluxe Apartment. 60 sqm, 110,000 won for 2 nights. Pros 1. Considering the price, I can't help but give it 5 stars. 2. The room is very spacious and there are separate bedrooms. Each has its own air conditioner. 3. The bed and bedding are good. 4. It was well cleaned and there were no strange smells. Cons 1. The room is a bit dark even when the light is on. 2. The shower curtain is a bit short, so you have to be aware that water might splash outside. 3. The furniture and bathroom show that it's a bit old. 4. The location of the accommodation is ambiguous. (You can just take Grab..)

DDoctor DrFirst, let me say that your hotel’s location is fantastic. Being situated opposite Park Silom, with restaurants and a 24-hour supermarket inside, is incredibly convenient. Additionally, having a 24-hour McDonald’s next door and being just a 5-minute walk from BTS Sala Daeng made my stay even more enjoyable. However, I did encounter an issue during check-out that left me feeling disappointed. The male staff member who handled my check-out (unfortunately, I couldn’t catch his name) was not very friendly. Due to the nature of the items in the room being mostly purchaseable, I was told to wait 10 minutes for a check to ensure nothing was taken. After the 10 minutes had passed, no one updated me on the status, and I had to approach the counter myself to ask if everything was settled. A lady staff member then confirmed that all was in order. I believe it would be much better if the staff took the initiative to inform guests once the check is complete, rather than leaving us waiting without clear communication. While I appreciate the thoroughness of the process, the long wait and lack of proactive communication could be improved for a smoother check-out experience.

WWandering ChildGreat location; not in the centre of the craziness but just a quick walk to the centre of it all. The hotel is also right in the street of an up and coming area getting filled with lovely restaurants and coffee shops and new bars perfect for Instagram pictures. The room itself was also better than what I expected considering how low the price was. The hotel also has its own little restaurant that is open from “dawn till dusk” with very delicious food.
