A lovely little hotel just a few minutes’ walk from the Sakuramachi bus station. Very convenient for getting to the Aso volcano by high speed bus. The station is inside a big mall and you can do most of your shopping there too.
The hotel itself was comfy, and I got to do my laundry there which was ace.

Room is good and considered spacious
The bed design to store luggage underneath which makes the room with more space, really good suggestion
Nice having free welcome drink, but just too full to enjoy late evening
Overall good and definitely can stay again next time

Location is good, right next to a shopping mall. However, for a four-star, I can’t believe it doesn’t have a safe in the room and water is charged at 100 yen per bottle which is rare to see this in a four-star hotel in japan.

Hotel is 5 tram stops away from Kumamoto station, red line. Shopping street is conveniently located, just a few minutes walk away, with many stores and eateries..There was a big Christmas market just in front of the shopping street.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and have all amenities needed. They have coin operated washer cum dryer on 3rd floor, 600 yen.
Nice hotel for a short stay.

CChari.mangoPlease aware if you decide to park at Nikko, they offer parking at 13:30-next day 1130 , unlimited access for 1500 yen. We didn't know that, and we got into the parking at. 1315, the hotel reception told us that we need to pay extra hour because of it. When we checked out, they told us they waived the extra hour fee cause they should have informed us. Hotel is decent, clean n in good location. Service is well and staff are very helpful.
AAaamayGreat location , easy access to public transportation, good shopping mall next door, nice staff, easy check-in and check out … only downside is that they didn’t have enough non-smoking room so I got stuck with a smoking room … not exactly ideal but made the most out of it …
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is conveniently located near Kumamoto Station, making it easy for us to go in and out and to inquire at the tourist information center.
Free drinks and wine are provided per person from 1800 to 2100. You can bring your own food in. The breakfast in the morning is also quite rich and sufficient. There are some cooked food such as tamagoyaki, hamburger steak, fried fish fillet, fried chicken, etc. There is also horse meat curry rice, basic salad and cheese, etc.
The bathhouse is not big, but there are not too many people during this period, so it is just right to take a bath at 8 to 9 o'clock every night.
There are curling irons for rent, and you can choose 5 personal items such as creams/masks every night. However, the lighting in the hotel room could be brighter.
GGuest UserThe hotel lobby was really nice and grand. The room was also very big and spacious. The hotel is located close to shopping streets, making it convenient to walk around without a car. Do note that there is an extra charge of 1000 Yen for parking of your car at the hotel. The only gripe was that the room was abit stuffy. We tried to change the settings of the air conditioner, but it didn't work after a few minutes.
TTraveller CI stayed at this hotel twice. The second time (this booking) we had a room on the older (?) wing and it was almost twice the size of the first one. So for this review I will only share feedback on this “older” room.
This room was big and thus good for us as we had 2 large luggage and more space in the room allowed us to open and pack our luggages with ease.
The bathroom was large with the large traditional bathtub. Toilet had bidet and etc but lacked heating which made it very cold in the winter. Basin tap was still the old turn types which was not eco friendly as it’s more difficult to shut it off.
Location was just opposite the train station which was excellent. But the nearest convenience store is also only at the train station which is about a 5-7mins walk away.
Breakfast was curated to suit the Japanese palette more and ends at 9a.m which is really way too early!!
We left something behind in the hotel but they managed to send the item back to us at our new hotel (still in Japan) which was highly appreciated.
Despite a few minor shortcomings listed above, the pros still outweigh the cons and I’ll definitely be happy to stay here again.
BB_BClean, Convenient, and Family-Friendly Stay
I recently stayed at this hotel and had a very pleasant experience. If you're planning to drive, please note that the hotel does not have free parking spaces. However, there are nearby paid parking options just a short walk away, so it's still quite convenient. There’s also a convenience store located right across the street, which is a big plus.
Check-in and check-out are both quick and hassle-free, thanks to the hotel's automated machines. The cleanliness of the hotel is impeccable, and the room was spacious enough for my child to run around comfortably.
One feature I especially appreciated was the in-room washing machine along with a heated drying rack and rail in the bathroom—super handy when traveling with kids and needing to wash their clothes. Nightgowns are also provided, just like at another Fav Lux hotel I stayed at in Nagasaki.
The room is equipped with a full set of kitchen appliances, perfect for light cooking or preparing fruits and snacks.
GGuest UserMy stay at Super Hotel Lohas Kumamoto Natural Hot Springs was a delightful experience. While the room was on the smaller side, it was thoughtfully equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The highlight of my mornings was undoubtedly the breakfast, which offered a delicious spread of Japanese cuisine, perfectly capturing the essence of local flavors. Though I didn't have the opportunity to visit the natural hot springs this time, I look forward to experiencing them during my next stay. If you're seeking cozy comfort and authentic cuisine in Kumamoto, Super Hotel Lohas is a great choice.
AAnonymous UserPerfect location. Next to the bus terminal. Close to the business district so have good access to food and shipping. But parking fee is a bit expensive. It was said to be 1000 Yen but I was charged 1100 and 1400 Yen respectively.
RRomanI think it was the biggest disappointment so far. The hotel is fine if you stay for one night. But more — I doubt it. For example, it is mandatory to leave at 10:00 even if you stay for more than one night. You can pay 1500 yen, but it literally gives you nothing. You can’t use sauna and sento. You received no additional service or amenities. Even sleeping is hard — the staff changes sheets. Next, people actually live in this capsule hotel. It means they get up very early, loud, alarm clocks, etc. Finally, the locker room is super tiny. There is little space. No benches. Definitely will not stay again.
Good sides — the staff is polite, and you can store your luggage at the counter. Actually, you must, but people still carry their luggage upstairs.
GGuest UserI honestly do not know where to start, I booked the hotel without really knowing much about Kumamoto Prefecture. After arriving in Kumamoto City and then realising Ueki Onsen is another 40 minute bus ride I was thinking oh dear where am I staying. After arriving at the hotel I was greeted by the manager of the hotel who showed me to my room and gave me a tour of the facilities. Once settled in I realised there isn't great public transport around and I primarily wanted to see Beppu and Yufuin during my stay, I enquired with the manager on where I might be able to rent a car, with little to no Japanese language under my belt he took it upon himself to reserve a vehicle for me and offered to drive me himself to collect it. He then also said he would take me back to return it a few days later. After my trips to Beppu and Yufui village (Not to be missed) and not to miss the outstanding and beautiful surroundings in Uekimachi and the Aso region. The manager and I set off to return my hire car, on the way back he took me to Kikuchi shrine to pray and also gifted me coffee and cake. They also accommodated me with use of the on site onsen (amazing) after hours as I'm heavily tattooed. I feel truly grateful to have found this hidden gem of rural Japan and if you are thinking of traveling this great country I emplore you to go off the beaten path. I experienced untold kindness during my stay and have memories of a life time. Thank you so much guys
